Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Here you will find answers to the questions we are asked most often.

  • Can I write my Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis at your institute?
Certainly—that is what we are here for! For an initial overview of current opportunities, you can browse the page dedicated to our theses, but it never hurts to contact our researchers directly!
  • Can I pursue a PhD at the institute?
Again, a definite yes! In addition to traditional PhD positions funded by the state or specific projects, we are also open to scholarship holders and external doctoral candidates (e.g., those working in a company).
  • Can I submit an unsolicited application?
We would be happy to receive one! While we cannot guarantee that we will have a suitable opening—or any opening at all—conversations often reveal surprising opportunities. In any case, we will certainly respond if you get in touch!
  • Can I apply via email?
That is by far the preferred method! Unless the application is for an official university job posting, simply send your application to the contact person listed in the job description on our website.
  • Who should I contact if I have another question?
Ideally, contact Prof. Stefan Fischer and/or Prof. Andreas Schrader directly.

Have we sparked your interest in working at our institute? Don’t hesitate—apply today. We look forward to meeting you.
